THE 10 COMMANDMENTS OF KITE SURFING PRACTICE We hope you have enjoyed your lessons with Kiteaction. Your skills as a kitesurfer can only improve through regular practice of the skills and techniques you have learned. So it is very important you follow the 10 commandments of kitesurfing as listed below. 1. NEVER practice alone – have a friend with you to launch and land your kite 2. ALWAYS prepare your practice area. Is it safe to fly your kite? Are there dangerous obstacles downwind? Is there a swimming reserve or flagged beach downwind? 3. ALWAYS have a safety plan. If things go wrong, be prepared and don’t panic 4. ALWAYS check the wind strength, direction and forecast 5. NEVER kite in off-shore or direct on-shore winds 6. ALWAYS check the waves, tide or currents 7. ALWAYS check your equipment and practise using the safety system 8. ALWAYS wear a safety leash 9. ALWAYS respect other beach users 10. ALWAYS respect other kiters and practise the give way rules Your instructor is always available for advice. If you have any questions regarding kitesurfing - please contact us.
